This section of the policy manual describes the action required of eligibility staff to assure Medicaid compliance with H.I.P.A.A. 

1.    Effective April 14, 2003, all Medicaid recipients must be informed in writing of the privacy practices of the Utah Department of Health's, Division of Medicaid and Health Financing (DMHF).

2.    Eligibility staff are required to furnish all Medicaid applicants a copy of the NOTICE OF PRIVACY PRACTICES.

3.    If Medicaid recipients have additional questions or concerns regarding their privacy rights, eligibility staff should refer them to the DMHF's Privacy Officer at (801) 538-9925.
