705-5 U.S. Treasury Regulations and Verification

When it is necessary to photocopy a check for verification, U.S. Treasury regulations must be strictly followed.  Government issued checks may be photocopied if only the serial number, symbol, date, amount and payee's name are shown.  The rest of the check must be blocked out.
