204-4  Who is a “Resident” of an Institution?

Previous Policy

 

A person living in an institution is a resident of that institution. 

 

1.         The following are not considered to be a resident of an institution:

a.         An individual in a public institution for a temporary period pending other arrangements appropriate for the individual's needs.

b.         An individual living in a public educational or vocational training institution for the purpose of getting an education or vocational training

2.         Anyone who moves from a household to an institution is not considered a resident of the institution until the month after he enters an institution.

3.         Anyone who moves from an institution to a household is not considered a resident of the institution during the month he leaves the institution.
